Exactly, you cant actually call MCE XP Pro. One of the main functions of pro is that it can join a domain. MCE with out the Media Center plugin is really just a beefy home version. I hate how people say MCE is pro, if that was the case I wouldnt have spent the last 2 weeks trying to combine the two. MCE is NOT PRO and shouldnt be called pro no matter what the install says.

Hello every one. I have been reading these forums for a while now and I came across one that describe how to integrate Media Center into XP pro. I have a legit copy of both but I keep reading it requires a file called add_mce.exe. I have looked all over for this file with little luck. Could some one help me out and post a link for it or point me in the right direction? Im a freshman in college majoring in networking and I got a copy of Server 2003 from them so I run a domain in my house. I know there is a work around for Media Center to get it to join a domain but if I could integrate it into my XP Pro install that would be even better.

One last question, after I do this integration when I go to update my PC will it download and install all updates for media center and XP pro, or will I need to do that manually? If it doesn't I can always use nlite to put them all together. Thanks a lot.
