  1. Hi. I've been having big problems with system ( WIN2000). Not sure but it's a 'bad' guy. (Adaware, Spybot , Norton antiV and MS's malware prgm say; 'can't find') Twice I've had my D,E & F partitions, just get wiped out of my WD 250GB drive. Since my 30GB 'C' was alive, I was able to limp along. This second time I used the recovery console to partition & format my D,E & F back into existence. Shortly after, My 'C' got unformatted. Fortunately, Ghost worked for me. Just after that while copying a DVD I saw that everything but the background screen and the window of the program doing the copying were gone. Could not restart system. My note is a little unclear here but I think message was about the 'Ntoskrnl.exe'. Anyway, I reGhosted. Not positive on the first couple, but crashes seem to be when attempting to record a DVD. Anyway some Google research and I started to pursue using SFC. But when I went to registry: HLM\ Soft \MS \Win NT\ CV \Winlogon , I found that SFCScan was NOT there. Can this be correct? Also the first entry under ...SOFTWARE \ Microsoft was the following; ` fg!* (with the space between ` and f being the graphic image of a square box ( which I do not know how to produce)) . Has anyone seen this? Is this a rat, a glitch? I deleted it, but I would be curious if anyone had come across it before. It had no 'set value' but a second line had about a 10 - 12 character Alpha/numeric value. This is a little deep for me. Any help appreciated.
