that pop up like once every few hours... never got them before in firefox
i use the kit from years ago that someone told me to get here the anti-malware with ccleaner, spybot and all that jazz and ran it all and stuff still comes up
i did trendmicros housecall too and stuff still comes up but on there it identified two VUNDO things and i thought it cleaned/deleted/removed them but i dont know

well i just unistalled it and installed AVG..
but idk if that was the appropriate solution or what

and is there a way to make them go quicker?
right now im doing AVG virus scan and its been going on for an hour and 50 mins and still is
189,000+ scanned objects.. granted i've had this computer since 2004.. i try to clear stuff up all the time..

ive had it for a while i got it here i think it was in some malware prevention package a moderator sent me to his site to get it.
but now its saying my home edition is done, and it wants me to upgrade and i dont want to. and it wont go away, a red box pops up in the corner every day... i have to click on it, then exit out of the browser it opens.. (it wants me ot sign up for a registration key but i already did a few times and nothing is coming of it, i got the key.. then nothing to do with it..)
is there any other free, quality program that i can use?
or can someone help me w/ avast to get it working back to normal

*update, i tried to do some troubleshooting and searching for a new driver, but apparently i'm up to date, so it's not that.
and currently in the process of upgrading to WMP 11.. not sure if it'll fix anything, but i guess it's good to be current.

everything has a slight lag throughout, the time is on par for any/everything that has one.
but the audio playback is just scratchy/messed up and i dont know why that is.
any ideas on what? i know if i burn some mp3s to a cd to play in my car everything works perfectly fine. i just have issues while im at the computer the past week or so.
also when i plug in my headphones, its the same quality. however, headphones are plugged in through one of the speakers.
suggestions to fix are helpful.

basically the same issue i had with IE.. but now it's firefox! ha! i thought nothing was supposed to happen to firefox!

What is VundoFix.exe?
What licence is it under?
how can we be guaranteed that it is safe to use and not hijacked itself?
Using linux for so long has made me weary of software licenses and conferming that the file I download has the credentials it is suppose to.
(I acctually like MS's plan to confirm the place that produced the software)
vundofix worked well for me, i haven't seen any bad side effects yet. it searches through bad .dll's and points them out for you to delete. i was skeptical at first but i did a little research. haven't found malicious talk about it yet and other people seem to have no problems either.
it def. helped my IE problem, no popups from IE and usually i get them in spurts every 4 hours or so.
still have a firefox prob that just came to life since after i created this thread.

In that case can you also do this:
* Start HijackThis and click on Open Misc Tools section
* Look for and click on Open Uninstall Manager...
* Look to the right and click on Save As..
* Save it to your desktop and copy the contents of that to me
It'll give me a list of your add/remove programs. You should be able to uninstall McAfee and Yahoo from there (add/remove programs)...
Also make a list of things from the list that you don't recognise or don't want and post a reply here.

from what i know i have avast
and then i cant seem to get rid of mcafee altogether its annoying i dont know how to terminate it im not renewing or subscribing to anything
*edit - oh and that stupid free sbc/yahoo one but i dont kno wwhat that does anymore i thought i got rid of it but i saw it pop up the other day for something

NOW, for the past 12 hrs i have not seen ONE pop up from IE but a couple of days ago i started getting some in firefox and the firefox ones still exist. but IE seems to have been taken care of because within a 12 hr period i always get a few.

lol this thing is STILL running i just want to go to bed now its 4:17 am!
i started it prob a hour and a half ago or more!
there are about 6-7 .dll's found in the box so far.
i hate things that take forever all computer processes should take 15 mins or less mine seem to take forever always.

Ok, Let's do this...my way.

Rename hijackthis to scan.exe. (optional post the log if you want to show everyone where they went wrong [it'll help them learn from their mistakes])

Step 2

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
- Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
- Click the Scan for Vundo button.
- Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
- You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YESs
- Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
- When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
- Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

I went to download some newer flash update.. and it never fell through.. something wouldnt connect
but now I get this ADOBE DLM pop up that i have to accept or cancel to continue when i open new pages
i try to take a screenshot but it wont take one from that screen
