Hello all! First post, so let me start by saying I find nLite to be an absolute God-send. Since removing all the Microsoft "added value" (using that term politely) Windows 2000 absolutely screams on my Pentium III laptop and my mother's Pentium III desktop. Unfortunately, it seems I might've plucked out one feature too many. Has anybody tried running TaxCut 2006 on an nLite'd Win2k box? It installs and loads on my mother's machine, but then craps out on the first screen. I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is, because the program lists Internet Explorer 6 as a requirement, and IE was one of the first things I ripped out when customizing the install CD. I really don't want to have to put IE back on her machine, so at this point I'm thinking I can put a temporary Win2k install on a different hard drive and let her do her taxes that way. Anybody run into this and found any better way of resolving it? I did notice oldversion.com has an install package for IE 5.5, but I was hesitant to try it, since that version might not be new enough, and it might not be so willing to leave her computer after I've installed it. In case it matters, my nLite custom config can be seen here. Thanks!
