I recently did an install of XP Pro SP2 using nlite 1.2.1. One of the components I chose to remove was Internet Explorer 6, however I left the IE core intact. I've installed FireFox and it's now my default browser. I use the IE Tabs Firefox extension so I can view certain websites in IE. This works perfectly, however it seems that websites that require me to install an ActiveX control, don't seem to install or run properly. I get a yellow bar at the top telling me that my security settnings are not correct. I set IE's security level to low, and made sure all ActiveX options were set to "enable" and it still has that error. I tried using ActiveX in IE6 itself as well by going to My Computer and typing the URL there. I've also tried the Mozilla ActiveX control plugin, to no avail. Is there any way I can re-install or repair ActiveX without having to have the IE browser itself on my system? I was under the impression that by removing just the browser and not the IE core than stuff like that wouldn't get broken. Please help!
