  1. Hi I have just discovered nLite over the last few days and have been trying to create my own customized version of XP Pro/SP2. Originally I created a basic slipstreamed version integrating a few hotfixes that I already had on my HDD. However I had problems with the version I ended up with and I just couldn't complete the installation of my new slipstreamed version. (Probs included multiple files not being found and the system eventually hanging before the install was finished). Then after reading this forum and surfing around, I decided to get rid of the hotfixes and try again. I made some other changes, and also decided to use some of the existing addons that are available through this site as well as some from Ryan VM's site, including his hotfix pack. I also downloaded nLite's Add-on Maker and created a few addons of my own. To save myself time when creating my new slipstreamed version, I used a preset from my first attempts and just made a few changes, including deleting the hotfixes etc that were already listed. However, I found as I was installing the new addons, the names and details of the addons were being changed. Eg: When I tried to install the addon for RyanVM's Update pack, it gave me details for 7-zip, and Adaware gave me name and details for Sun Java! I deleted them from the hotfix/upgrades list and tried again. Some addons seemed OK to start with but now more than half of them are doing the same thing - giving me the wrong info! I figured that maybe something had screwed up because I was using a preset. So I started from scratch, including deleting all the XP Pro files and re-copying them from the CD to the folder on my HDD. But the same thing is happening! I decided then to check some of the addons cab files and I noticed that some of them had 2 .ini files - one named for the product and another named for a different piece of software I had an addon for! I also noticed that some of the addons that I created with Add-on Maker seem to be much larger than I would have expected. I think this is probably a separate problem?? All my add-ons are stored in one folder. Can someone tell me what on earth is going on?! What am I doing wrong?!!! Tnx
