Hello! I have a laptop running Windows 2000 Pro. This was on a network and is now a standalone. This problem is when I put a CD in the drive - the light comes on and the troubleshooter tells me it is working properly BUT when I explore or try to access the drive I get the following: 'D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of a I/O Device Error.' I have removed the driver in System Device Manager and restarted Windows so it is back again but still the same message. The CD is a TEAC CD-W28E CD Writer and DVD reader. It hasn't worked for a while but wasn't a problem while on a network. Now I can't even install the driver for internet access or any programs. The computer tells me it is working properly and will eject ok, so I'm puzzled. Any ideas please? Thanks
