  1. I seem to be plagued by the mup.sys bug that monumental threads have been written about....but after a lot of research I'm still at a loss. I have an ASRock 939-Dual SATA2 motherboard with an 80GB SATA HDD. I slipstreamed the ULi driver into the windows disc and it recognized it automatically and did the file copy and install beautifully. After the automatic restart from installation, the Windows XP boot screen comes up for a split second before the computer just shuts down and restarts. Booting in safe mode yields similar results, hanging on the loading of a file called mup.sys. I'm not sure if this is the source of the problem, but I can't even get to the recovery console to disable the service. What should I do? I'm totally at a loss, and I even rewiped the drive and reinstalled to no avail. Also, it's just a normal disc with SP2 on it, and the only change I made was adding the SATA driver (as I have no floppy) with no hotfixes or patches included. Thanks in advance, Nolan
