Ran Antivir, AdAware, Search and Destroy, Security Task Manager, Housecall, and Pandascan. Nothing. I just recently installed SP2 and have run into a problem of all my ports being stealthed. Normally this wouldn't bother me but I play a lot of online games and run into problems of going link dead because the server cannot send information to my computer. I read installing SP2 automatically sets the firewall to enabled. Because I game a lot, I disable all services I do not need for gaming to increase performance (like the ICS/Firewall service and Windows Management Instrumentation which the firewall needs to run). I cannot check if the problem is the firewall because it needs WMI to run. I cannot start the WMI service because EventLog is a dependancy of WMI and the service isn't listed. Prior to Service Pack 2 this wasn't a problem since the EventLog service was there. So if anyone has a solution requiring the firewall to be checked, we'll need to figure out how to get EventLog service listed (I don't recall the exact registry set up for it or I'd make the registry key myself). I am using the same device to connect to the Internet(Comcast cable modem). I've called Comcast to see if they were throttling ports but they are not. I do not normally run a firewall when gaming (when I'm not gaming I used to just restart EventLog, then WMI, then the firewall services). So basically I need 2 things if possible, Ideas other than the firewall was enabled upon installation of SP2, and someone who can send a copy of XP Pro EventLog service registry key. Mine is there but lacks the information that puts it in the services list and lets me enable the service. I'd really prefer not to have to do a format to replace one registry key for a service that may not even be the problem.
