I've had this bug 2 times : -a long time ago, I used pretty the same configuration, but with older tools/addons/updates -now, the only thing I've changed is that I've added some addons (Java, VLC), some files manually, and some CMD commands. Of course I've updated the whole thing. I'm pretty sure it does not come from the addons. I've noticed it comes up only when using the command prompt !?!?! Each time it was the HID driver. The same thing, during runonce, using CMD.

Hi there! On RunOnce, I've noticed that some nLite builds make the system want to install a HID driver. -If cancel, the RunOnce continue -If I try to install, it works, but "the device cannot start" and RunOnce continue. I know this driver install is useless: when I cancel it, nothing happens and everything work fine. I cannot see what the cause of this. For me, it seems to be totally random. I'd like to know what's going on, why is this installation prompting, and how to prevent it from prompting. Thanks in advance.

Right, I had understood that. But just like I said before, I dont want the RaynVM's DotNet. If they dont exist, then to bad for me, I'll keep using the silent nstallers. Thanks for all the answers.

I'm sorry if I'm annoying, but where are the AIO .NET Framework to find ? So I'll have to build the addon by myself ? I find strange that noone find useful tu slipstream the .NET to Windows !?!?!?!?!

Thanks for the answers, but I think there was a misunderstanding. What I want is to DIRECTLY integrate, or better said TO SLIPSTREAM the Framework 1.1 and 2.0 to Windows XP install files. Just like SP2, or other nLite addons. I do not want a switchless installer, I've got it already. Or perhaps I've not understood your answers.

Hi there! I'd simply like to know where to find Framework 1.1 & 2.0 with hotfixes integrated as addons for nLite. The silent package from RyanVM are excellent, I think, but they cannot be directly integrated to Windows (or if yes, I don't know how). Thanks in advance.

I finally found the solution by myself: it is Ryan's Update Pack fault. This file is obselete an can be surely deleted.

Hi there! After having integrated drivers to Windows, the resolution changes automatically to 1024*768, making the billboard background being decentered to the top left corner. I know that's absolutely not important, this is only a question of cosmetic. If someone knows how to prevent resolution to change / to chose resolution to fit to the background / to fit the background to the resolution, please let me know.

Seems like you were finally right : there was something strange with SFC. I've rebuild the OS with SFC properly deactivated, and everything went right. Thanks for the solution (it was my mistake, now I'll take care about it). But you made me discover the error with the PLUGIN.OCX file that cannot be registered. If someone can help me to fix it, it would be nice. I can add it manually, but does this solve the problem. Does this file really need a registration?

No, I've kept SFC deactivated. I'm sorry about what I've said, but I've just discovered that those folders are system protected. I cannot delete them while I'm running the current OS. The only error I get in setuperr.log is the following : I've never noticed this problem before, but perhaps I had had it already. How can I fix it ? By replacing the file manually ?

Okay, some of you may find it strange, or useless, or anythingelse I don't know, but what I wish is to have a quick and clean installation process that is compatible WITH ANY KIND OF COMPUTER. That's why I need the Keyboard window. By the way, I've looked inside the WINNT.sif file. I cannot find anything related to Keyboard selection. Here is the file :

But a missing feature that should normally be present cannot be called a "bug" ? I thought it could, but I'm not a specialist in programmation vocabulary ! ^^ I'll try to edit the Winnt.sif file. Hi there! I've deleted Microsoft Front Page, Netmeeting, Movie Maker, etc. and their empty folders remain in Program Files folder. The folders were properly deleted on version 1.34. I've this problem only since I've changed to 1.35. I can delete the folders through a Batch file, but I'd like to know what's going on. Thanks in advance.

But I've already selected Hide Defaults. My OS is really stable, no bugs, nLite build generates no errors, everything is OK. Only this bug, I cannot understand. Then it is a bug. I noticed before that when the timezone was selected, it skipped one of the screen concerning language/keyboards/timezone. I think it was the keyboard one, but I cannot remember for sure. Please help me!

Hi there ! Well, since nLite 1.34, the Keyboard Selection windows on installation DOES NOT APPEAR at all, skipping directly to the Name window. And I haven't entered anything in the regional tab in nLite. I do not think to have removed anything concerning this. In fact, I used pretty the same settings like before, but since 1.34 and 1.35, I cannot get rid of this bug. PLEASE HELP ME ! Thanks in advanve.

Hi there ! Well, it is not easy to explain, but I will try : when deleting the content of %allusersprofile%, it concerns obviously every users. But what then if the content is located in %userprofile% only and not in %allusersprofile% ? Of course, you can modify the content, but when creating a new user session, it will restore it. Besides, is it possible to apply some registry setting that are normaly located in HKCU to HKLM ? Exemple : -Deleting "Microsoft Update.lnk" form %allusersprofile% make it be permanently deleted for all session. => OK, THAT IS WHAT I WANT -You delete Internet Explorer link from start menu of the session USER1. After creating the session USER2, Internet Explorer link is back. I presume it is because there is somewhere the default content stored, but I don't jnow where. => HOW TO SOLVE THIS ? I WANT IT TO BE PERMANENTLY DELETED -You add a setting to HKCU, like a file type. When creating a new user session, this file type is no more recognized. But I'm sure that adding the setting to HKLM instead of HKCU works. => HOW TO SOLVE THIS ? Ok, thanks for all ! The funny thing is that I had already found it by chance ! I simply knew that shell32.dll contains many materials for Windows, and I checked for the flags/logos. Just one thing neo, you have copied/pasted too quickly, as it is not 131 -> 1033 for Home Edition, but only for Pro (you have written two times the same thing). It is 147 -> 1033 for home. Thank you again.

Thanks, but apparently system32.dll doesn't exist at all !! There are many system.xxxxxx.dll files, but I don't feel courageous enough to check them all. If someone knows...

Hi there ! I just want to know if it is possible to change the logo appearing on the left side of the classic Start Menu and of Winver.exe (aka "About Windows"). I think it is simply a resource hacking, but in this case I need to know the concerned file(s). Thanks in advance.

I'll perhaps say something wrong. But in the last version of nLite I tested (1.0 RC6) there was the possibility to remove the Windows popup that allowed you to search on the Web for the right program to open unknown format. (this popup prompted by trying to open unkonwn format, of course!) There was also the possibility to activate the Quick Launch Zone, which I've not seen in the new nLite. Perhaps I've missed the option... If I'm true, it would be nice if someone could tell me how to do it without nLite (registry tweak ?). And, in this case, if nuhi could add these features to the next nLite versions...

I'd like to know if it is possible to change the OS name in unattended mode, I mean the one you see on the windows multi-boot page (where you select which OS you want to start). For exemple, when you install 2 Windows XP Pro, a special screen will prompt when starting the computer with 2x "Windows XP Professional". Of course we can change it in the boot.ini file, but I'd like to change it by default in an unattended installation.
