I have an "A-Data myFlash 02G" USB Flash drive and when i copy a large amount of small files, the copying process takes forever It took me almost 10 minutes to copy 100 MB of small files When I copy large files the copying process is fast....it takes about 3 minutes to copy a 700MB file I tested the flash drive on many computers and I got the same result, so it has nothing to do with the USB ports or the operating system. I use the FAT32 filesystem on it Does this mean that my flash drive is failing? I only used it for 3 months.

the same thing happened to me with a complete unmodified instalation of vista. On the vmware site there is some info about this. For me it worked after I selected Windows XP compatibility for the installer and disabled that user account protection stuff.

I would like to reconfigure some BIOS parameters for my old laptop, but i have a problem... The BIOS setup program is usualy stored on floppy disk and i don't have a floppy drive, only a cd-rom drive and a PCMCIA network card. I also have disk images made after those floppy disks and my laptop will boot from the cd drive by default Will I be able to use the BIOS setup program if I use those images in order to burn two bootable cd-s and boot the setup program from them?

I tested a cut down version of vista on my computer (a sempron2400+ processor and 384 Mb of memory). vlite makes a big difference, aero and all the visual effects worked and i was able to run some office apps, but Vista needs some serious tweaking in order to make it perform like XP does....

i was hoping to slipstream that service pack. Since slipstreaming is not supported i think i will install it the usual way and make a disk image with norton ghost it is quite anoying to reinstall the service pack each time i make changes to the system Thanks for the info
