  1. Thanks! I did this, and have not had the problem since.
  2. I installed the "SpeedFan 4.29" app, and the temps appear to be "good" (green check mark) local temp=40C, remote temp=44C, HD0: 41C Are these good numbers?
  3. I doubt it. As soon as I turned on the machine this morning the problem occured (within 3 minutes). But I will see if cleaning it will help. Thanks for the idea! Yes, I see this in the event log: Type: Error Date: 8/20/2006 Time: 7:20:42 Source: System Error Category: (102) Event: 1003 Details of error: Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 804de798, parameter3 f27c5cf0, parameter4 00000000. 4. Hi, I'm a first time poster.... I have an HP Pavillion 510n, w/Celeron 1.2G, 512MB ram, running XP SP2, with all OS updates from MS update. After about an hour of use, the screen and mouse will freeze. After ~1 minute, the screen will go black, and the machine will not respond. I then power it off (holding the power button down), and power back up. Most of the time I will get a "recovered from a serious problem" box on powerup. When I click the "send error to Microsoft" button, I get a web page (Online Crash Analysis page) saying that the problem is "likely due to a problem with the Intel graphics controller", and it gives a link to "go to Intel.com to get the fix". When I go to the link, there is nothing there about fixing the problem. I have an 82810E graphics controller and I updated the driver (to ver 6.7, 6.13.1.3196), thinking that this was the problem, but it still shows the problem. Any idea what could be wrong? thanks!
