I happened to see a screenshot of a frnd of mine, whose System properties window looked like the one I've attached.. Please let me know how it can be done... And can it be customised so that it would appear wen I install a fresh copy of Windows, without having to perform the customization each time?

Since you do not have the name of the registery Key, you can use any file restore software to check the partition and recover the old key......

U can use any CD... It is the License key that shows wether u r using a pirated version or a genuine Win XP... So, if u have the Genuine Win XP License Key.. U can burn any Win XP CD from ne1 or u can also download it from P2P or Bittorrent clients...

You can install XP 32-bit on 64-bit CPUs since they are Backward Compatiable... Only thing is, U wud not be able to install a 64-bit OS on a 32-bit CPU....

Simply put....

OS CPU

64 64 == YES

32 64 == YES

64 32 == NO

32 32 == YES

If you are using a HP-Compaq Laptop, AFAIK, you need the Recovery partition to install XP... If the partition is gone, I guess there are some key combinations that u need to use wen installing from the OEM CD to install XP...

I am not sure about the other methods though... Cud u please explain wats happening wen you try to install it....

How do I pull the product key from my Microsoft Windows CD?

I got the Windows XP Professional-orginal CD, in sort of a messy condition thrown away state.. the user seems to be somewhat furious abt the operating system i guess

now I have this gleaming original version CD but no keys... eventhough I know its fruitless, yet I tried tracing the owner but failed at the first step itself...

I dialled M$.. they refused bluntly now i am clueless ..

anyone with any idea what to do with the cd .. the mere sight of a orginal version Windows XP Professional CD and me in a helpless condition is kinda sick....

can anyone help me ??

suggstions are most welcome....

I have heard that we can pull up the Product Key from the CD, hence this question...
