I found this site looking for Windows XP help...sems a lot of people have been doing that recently...every one so far has been very helpful and i might stay and help out with what i can even thought im computer illiterate... I also like to play computer games. I currently play DF: Black hawk Down and The Legend of Ares

Do a chkdsk first before rushing out to buy Windows - Did it Does your PC not come with a restore CD or partition? nope...my mom's fault...lost it or something and shes making me pay for it :/ McUpdate belongs to McAfee Internet Security. Is McAfee working? If not can you reinstall it? It says its not working, but i can run it Don't know about AOL file as I can't see the long filename. Desk.cpl is the CP applet for desktop properties. I don't know what the three have in common. Yes, its XP/SP2...i dont use AOL my mom does though...and it works fine

Wow...I'm (lack for better words) screwed huh? I tried the thing where u right click the C drive and tell it that after you restart to search and replace corrupt files, but it didnt work

My mom says that we dont have an OS CD...do i need an XP disk to reinstall Windows?

This comes up when i click the desktop and go to properties.

I was playing a game yesterday, and my PC crashed so i rebooted and this came up: I closed them all, and now this comes up over and over: If anyone knows how to fix this, any and all help is appreciated.
