The B215 looks like the Samsung Xpress M2885FW with a modern touchscreen. Xerox recently bought the small Samsung printer patents as there was a cooperation with HP in sight (HP supports Samsung printers now). I except the web interface of the Xerox B215 to differ from that though, because it looks very Xerox-ish, like their 10 year old A3 printers, Workcentre 72xx, 75xx and 78xx. These should work driverless on Windows 98, too, through the web interface.
Sadly not the first time I looked at a Samsung and mistook it for a Brother printer. The design of the front and of the paper tray are very similar.
I once had a Xerox scanner, it was really a Visioneer. Does Xerox make anything themselves anymore?

The Xerox B215 looks suspiciously similar to a Brother All-in-One printer

One of the many reasons why having a chrome based browser monopoly is bad. Feels like we are back in the bad old ie6 days.

During my searches, I've found a .docx word writer for Windows 2000. Is it possible to obtain one for Windows 9x? I prefer an application that can natively open the documents instead of require a manual conversion!
I've also found an epub reader that works on Windows 2000. Too bad Windows 98's life support ended about 8 years before epub.
Openoffice 3.2 and NativeWinds Docx2Rtf can open docx files in win98
LibreOffice 3.3 also works but the installer gives some error messages.
Sumatra PDF 2.2.1 can read epub files.
All except Docx2Rtf require kernelex to work.

Installing KB3102810 fixed the problem for me.

Generally KernelEx 4.0 RC2 has been running very well.
Perhaps a little delayed, but I have been attempting to isolate these problems:
Issue report:
OS: Windows 98SE + 98SE2ME including Option 3 Me Explorer/Shell
Issue 1
KX: 4.0.11 (RC1) and 4.0.12 (RC2) with or without RP9 - no problem in earlier 0.3.x versions.
Printer: Epson Stylus Photo R290
Driver: 7.1bE
If I want to print something, I normally turn on the printer and after a few moments when the printer has initialised, start printing.
However, ever since installing KEx 4, the printing hangs, requiring a Windows restart (and ending some un-named processes).
Workaround (works most times): After starting Windows, but before any applications have been opened, go into the printer properties, and the Main tab, then wait for the ink levels to appear.
If the ink levels don't appear, then it has hung again requiring a Windows restart, otherwise printing will work normally until the printer is turned off.
...System hangs sometimes on startup, seems to involve mprexe.exe (version 4.10.1998) not responding.
...
Issue 2
KX: 4.0.12 (RC2) - no problem with earlier versions
Many times when starting Windows, the wallpaper will appear and then nothing.
The mouse cursor moves but no other activity.
Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del once does nothing, twice shows a "Windows is busy" blue screen.
Pressing a key, gives the Task Manager.
Task Manager shows only one process - mprexe (not responding).
After I end this task, there is some disk activity then nothing again.
Then Ctrl-Alt-Del again as above, but this time it shows msgsrv32 (not responding).
After ending this task, nothing - I have to restart.
Workaround: Install Revolutions Pack 9 (with KernelEx 4.0 RC2) (!)
I noticed the printing problem as well, but I think I have a solution. Search for the spool32.exe file and right click on properties. Click the compatibility tab, and select disable kernelex extensions. Your printing problems should go away.

MS Paint from windows XP works with kernelex 4rc2. The only thing that has to be added is the mfc42u.dll file to C:\windows\system folder and GDI+

You can't, multiple CPUs/cores requires multi-threading support within the kernel. This is why MS had to drop Win9x entirely and create the NT kernel (aka Win 2000), it required a massive rewrite from scratch.
If you have a dual core system, you need to just move on to XP, you're system will run twice as fast as it does on 98, you'll be much happier.
You mean aka Windows NT 3.1 circa 1993. In 1993 if you had a single core 32 bit CPU with an FPU, you were on the cutting edge. NT was not created for 64bit or quad core CPU's, it was created to be a Unix competitor

Be careful what version of XP you get, XP home does not support multiple CPU's. My understanding is that it will support 1 multicore CPU, but sources are not clear on this.

According to the hotfix page NUSB 3.3 came on 2007 Dec 12, which means you probably have 3.2.

I wouldn't use helix heap extender as a way to solve the GDI resource problem

Link to adobe site download. Remember to uninstall old version first.

There is a 1394 driver already built into 98se. I suppose it might help 95 users though.

I need the uniata driver (universal sata driver), but the site seems to be down. Does anybody have a copy, or know of a mirror? I found a copy of the file on a react os live cd, but I'm not sure if it is the same as the windows version.
Here is a link to the site

It's a driver set for usb 2.0 contollers. It's already included with NUSB 3.3.

Here are also some newer files:
In SP3: -> newer file in:
cdvsd.vxd 4.10.2224 EN -> Q274370 4.10.2226 EN
http://www.tacktech.com/download.cfm?file=.../274370usa8.exe
The choice to use cdvsd.vxd 4.10.2224 was done because 4.10.2226 has compatibility problems with some drives. I think it removed in beta 2.

Don't forget to update these files and did you fix the Windows Update error?

I agree that some if not most of these updates should be applied to Gape's pack. However there is one I am nervous about due to some users having problems with it. The patched IO.sys caused one users drive letters to become messed up. I think this patch needs further testing. It worked OK for me, but I have a very standard configuration. I.E. my hard drive is C:, Floppy is A: etc. On more unusual systems this might cause problems. X360C.exe is a device driver, and that is not something that we should really get into because it would set a precedent that we should add more device drivers and then we end up with a huge SP that would span a couple of CDs.I think for users who want the kitchen sink approach, the autopatcher fills this need. I think Gape's pack should be for people who use 98 Lite, or don't use IE, or updates IE manually.

Maybe Freedos would be easier for what you are trying to do.

Looks like a scripting problem. Do you have Ms script 5.7? I find it doesn't work so well with 98, 5.6 works better. Worst case you can use Opera, as it seem to work better with sites that use more advanced features.

I've got an old Linksys WPC54G PC Card that works in 98 without any tweaking.
This person claims that Ralink RT61 based adapters work. https://cloakedthargoid.wordpress.com/win9x-wpa2/
