hey kippers, draw the line, make it black rather than no line and right click on it. you will see a "Set Autoshapes Defaults". click on that. that will make all lines drawn black. if you want it dashed, blue, whatevah, just set the default the same way. good luck! onlyinamerica

Hi there, new forum guy here. Can't seem to get over the hurdle of being allowed to draw shapes when the document is protected. it's a real pita. I have a template form that has links throughout the pages that need protected but the remainder of the white space can have free reign for anything. I'm assuming I'm left with code and some macros? Thanks Dan
