Wicked187
Does anyone know where I can get a list of components for use in the [Components] section? I really just want to know the name for Games, as I do not want any games installed on the computer.
Wicked187
Unattend.doc in the the deploy.cab contains a list of all the components....[Edit] This was the case in Windows 2000, but not XP... Most of the components names are the same, but there are some new ones.

slartibartfast
Any chance of an explanation of what all these components actually are and if we need them or not? I know some of them are obvious or already documented but some of them I've got no idea about!
Geckotek
Check ref.chm in the xp deploy tools.
slartibartfast
Sorry, hadn't looked at it for a while! It still hasn't helped me much tho. I'm sorry if it's a really lame question (or if 'm being annoying!), but do you know anywhere I can get a bit more information on them?for example do i need to install pop3service to recieve email with outlook express? or is for some sort email server?same question for iis_smtp?thx for any help. TonicX
My suggestion is to open Service and find the correspondent components read the descriptions. You might not find all components according to DaveXP's [component] list. But it still helps. You can also go to Microsoft's website
