rodommoc
I have a client that wants to run RDP session or multiple sessions to a Windows 2000 Workstation. I know it can be done by Hyena, PcAnywhere, & VNC. These solutions would require them to install a server and a client. A couple of years ago I thought I saw some hacks that would allow RDP session, possibly multiple RDP sessions, on Windows 2000 Workstation. Thanks
kristobal
I found this on google groups: http://groups.google.com/group/n3td3v/brow...903a22cec3ca884"If you do not respect legal issues and have a Windows 2000 Server installation CD, you can use utils such as NTSwitch to switch W2K Pro to Server, upgrade it with installation CD in unattended mode, install a terminal services then switch back to W2K Pro. Terminal will continue working even on Pro mode, and you will have a 2 administrative remote sessions (exactly as in Server)."
DosFreak
zen69x and I worked on it a couple of years ago. I gave up trying because I didn't have the time but he kept plugging away and this thread is where he announced that he finally got it working in full:http://www.compatdb.org/ubbthreads.php/ubb...r/136582/page/1I would forward the email he sent me but I'd have to dig around to find it. The thread @ Ars may be all you need assuming he hasn't refined the process further:http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums...51003605631/p/1I haven't touched the project since that time so I'm not sure if any recent updates will invalidate the process or not.Hope the above is helpful to you. 888
If anyone's still curious, NetMeeting is one options for 2K... Im always surprised that so many people have no clue about its existence and capabilities Im using it to remotely use my W2K main box from a PocketPC phone (and 'regular' computers) on a daily basis almost
GrofLuigi
Im always surprised that so many people have no clue about its existence and capabilities I have, that's why I go few extra steps (Nlite and beyond) to kill it and its driver(s). Otherwise, it's quite capable of slowing down one's computer (but mostly not too much).Just kidding. Who needs it, will use it.GL
