jbergeron
My computer at work will not let me access CD's any more. Keep getting message "Administrator has prohibited access to CD/DVD Rom drives." I have certain administrator rights and always had access to write or download data from CD's. Whats up with this. If any one has a answer to fix this I would appreciate it. adamt
If you have admin rights (try net localgroup administrators to be sure), then you should be able to change the registry key for this:HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer ... TheFlash428
Even if you have admin rights to the computer, if this PC is on an active directory domain this setting may be controlled by a group policy as well. If this is the case and you have a legitimate reason to access the CD drive, you should speak with your systems admin.
