Phil_C
Hello AllDoes anyone know if it is possible to disable certain hardware items with the registry or some other method that can be run during an unattended install? I am trying to disable the "Beep" sound that is played when an error occurs within windows. The only way to completely disable the sound is to go to device manager and select "Show hidden hardware" and then disable the Beep. Is there a registry setting that will achieve the same thing?RegardsPhil

Phil_C
Hello AllIcemanNDThanks for pointing out that utility. It looks like it will do the job perfectly.jeremyschubertThe registry setting will not stop all the "beep" sounds. The only method I have found that disables 100 percent of the beeps is to disable the hardware itself.RegardsPhil
Sonic
Not unattended method, very effective : unplug the speaker directly from mainboard
jaclaz
Not unattended method, very effective : unplug the speaker directly from mainboardUnless of course you have a recent "normal" motherboard, on which the piezoelectric speaker is soldered to it. jaclaz
