nuhi
You are not the first one to report it, try some searching. But I must admit we actually don't have a clue why it happens. What seems to help is a host Windows reinstall, but that's extreme. erthy976
Thx for the reply. After reinstalling windows didn't solve the problem,I recognized that the problem occured after I have setthe vlite temp directory on the network drive of vmware(which read/write permission). So I had the following configuration:Y:\vlite (directory where vlite should copy the vista files from cd to)Y:\vlite temp (the directory of the vlite temp files)(Y: being the network drive of vmware of course)After I set the temp direcotry to "c:\temp" the error disappeared.I first set the temp dir on the network drive, because I thoughtthe space on the vmware partition could not be enough.Meanwhile I have a well running vista home premiumwhich only needs 3.73gig. Good work!Hopefully this information helps youto solve the problem.
nuhi
Thank you. Now that you reminded me that issues was solved by reseting the temp folder to the default for some...uh how could I forget.Enjoy and feel free to report any issue once you confirm that it doesn't happen on the full Vista. Even though I set my temp directory to c:\temp or whatever it still refuses to run I tried permissions I tried disabling network shares I tried running in safe mode without networking. Running 64bit home premium. I don't have this problem using x86 system with the same network permissions though I'm not able to add the updates to the slipstream as it says it needs to be in a 64 bit environment.
