dexter.inside
if you want to backup a Vista that was previously activated, do the following:- sysprep with the -activated option- capture the partition with ImageX- overwrite the new WIM over your \SOURCES\INSTALL.WIM on the vLited DVD.You can also use Norton Ghost 12 to save a image of your system. nam265
Ohh so does that mean I can backup a Vista image that's customized? Upon install, Vista will look exactly like it was backup?
dexter.inside
that's the entire point of using sysprep, yes.
nam265
@dexter.insideMay I have some sort of guideline for that? I found sysprep.exe but when I try it in CMD, it said the command -activated isn't avaialbe.
dexter.inside
it seems the -activated option is no longer available since beta, it now detects by itself if yours is OEM or not. Try it without parameters, and maybe with the licensing service disabled. I am still waiting for them to send me the OEM edition of Windows Server 2008. When I'll have something appropriate to experiment on, I will be able to provide more specific info. Edited May 9, 2007 by dexter.inside
