char1125
Hello, I switched from Windows 2000 on our Gateway Profile 3 to an iMac about three years ago, and haven't really touched the thing since then. However, I want the files on it back and need to transfer them to my iMac running Tiger, Mac OS X v.10.4.9. The Gateway was updated to XP recently after we bought my iMac. What's the best way to transfer files? I can easily transfer files between this iMac and my other iMac using our wireless internet network. Can I do the same with our PC?Thank you very much! bonestonne
well, macs use airport, so i'm not sure how well it would go along using that with windows, however, if you network everything, it should be fine, meaning each computer linked to a shared files folder, etc and so forth, drag and drop on both computers...and if that doesnt work, a simple flash drive will. Zxian
Windows-Mac file sharing can be finicky... I'd suggest either using an external USB hard drive or burning to disk. I'm not sure if your computers support USB 2.0, but if they don't, then go for the disks. They're cheap and probably your fastest solution.
