pcandpc
Thanks, sofolo.I am trying your first two suggestions on cleaning upthe temp and prefetch folders. As for the performance setting, I've currently chosen"let windows decide what's best for this computer."And, I'll follow up on the results.By the way, this browser loading issue has come up ona freshly XP installed computer, and I have already trieddisk clean up and defragmentation.[follow up]Well, after using the computer for a while (~ a day),I'm noticing frequent slowness or loading failures again.Basically, as that happens, I just reload the page. So, I'm curious what's causing this behavior. Could thisbe due to some improper browser settings or poor harddrive quality? Thanks. Edited April 22, 2007 by pcandpc
Zxian
What browser are you talking about here? If it's IE, are you running IE7? Upgrading from IE6 to IE7 actually ironed out some bugs my friends had on their computers. Is it just the browser that loads slowly, or other programs as well? If it's other programs, then it's not just the browser.
Jeremy
pcandpc, use CCleaner to clean temp/cache. Try updating or reinstalling your Ethernet drivers.
