Thanks for choosing us to assist you with your hosting needs.

In my opinion I have found having several interactive scripts on your site makes it popular. Something visitors can say to their friends "check this site out". But it really depends on who you want to visit.

For example, I decided to make my personal site ( http://www.xperties.net/ ) a fun site. I added random quotes, I purchased the famous sig script, the wall script, I made a huge link base (still working on it), I collect any funny swf and mpg movies.

All depends on what you want to do and what direction you want to head in. Keep in mind running a news site which is always popping up every where takes a large amount of time and work.

Look into Viral marketing. then throw a bit of that kind of content into your site, you just have to think of something... thats the hard bit.

ive an idea for a site, theres already several around but none that are extensive enough or good enough quality... DVD covers. Then theres the legality issue. The RIAA seem to mind music covers, but the movie people dont seem too fussed about DVD cover sites, not that im aware of anyway.

Hmmm.... Movie posters?

Ill post back if i have any beter ideas.

Just keep in mind. Text is easy to host. Hosting images or videos or anything of that sort on a popular site can be quite expensive. I decided to start my own forum. It combines all of the things from other sites that I like basically. The one thing I have found though, is that even though MSFN is a great site to find out about unattended installations, it deals with your standard user who just wants to rebuild their PC. My website will take a more professional approach to this as well as having information about network installation methods and mass software update methods. I love MSFN and all of the others, but I can never seem to find information that would work in a large corporate environment. If you want a popular site you just have to bring something that noone else is, or offer the goods of many sites in one location. I'm sure you will come up with something.

MSFN is for end users and will stay that way.

Yes, and that is great. I love the site none the less. But for this reason I am in the process of building a site similar to this and NTFS and Ne0win and any others, but where professionals can go to get help on issues uncovered here. Please don't take this as a slam or anything, because it's not meant to be.

To make a site successful, it needs to have a thing that you can't see on the Internet, such as AaronXP creating MS Beta NG back in '01? :)

It proved immediately popular due to the demand, so maybe you could go for something that's in demand at this moment of the year?

Just my 2p's worth! :D
