MSNwar
Yikes, Christmas is just around the corner for we that need to start thinking about buying a new PC. This is about the time of year we start seeing online advertisements, T.V. commercials, and emails pointing us to the candy stores. Source, budget, and time frame are some of the key issues to develope a plan that will obtain the PC of choice.Post your Christmas Deals here found on the internet so we can have a gander. Be it a replacement for our present PC, a notebook for our college age children, or a bare-bones system for a sweet upgrade. Individual components such as modems, graphics cards, motherboards, etc. have a nice niche here as well.Oh, and if you are hitting Mom & Dad up for something be sure to point them here for that educated buying decision from your trusted source ... MSNwar
From around the internet I start at CSO, Computer Surplus Outlet, and then jump over to TCWO, The Computer Warehouse Outlet. Both companies sell computers and/or computer parts at wholesale to the public. Nifty!CSO has a nice special in the CSO New Arrivals area.A Hewlett Packard 1.3GHz System with Micrsoft Windows XP Home Edition pre-installed for US $349.00.Product Highlights:Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition comes pre-installed in this fine Hewlett Packard system. An Intel Celeron 1.3 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM and a 40 GB hard disk drive lay at the heart of this system. Video, audio and an Ethernet controller are all integrated. A CD-RW drive and 56K modem are included as well! This would be a nice starter system for folks wanting to surf the internet, make music or data CDs, and even cable it to another PC. The hard drive is a bot small for music storage, but thats where the CD Writer helps out. Does not include a monitor, scanner, or printer. However, those items are cheap and all three can be sourced for $100 to $125 at today's retail prices. The pre-installed Windows XP Home Edition is a big plus.TCWO offers a nice Product Deal in the form of a barebones package that focuses more on the hardware side of things.New Intel Celeron processor. Now based on the Pentium4 core, this CPU screams at a Celeron price. Value-packed build it yourself kit includes the following:Celeron 1.8GHz Barebone Kit US $371.00TCWO TRÜ Celeron/P4 Socket478 350W barebone system. Intel Celeron 1.8GHz Socket478 128k cache CPU Intel retail heatsink/fan unit 256MB PC2100 DDR memory 40GB ATA100 7200RPM hard drive Intel/Ambient 56k v.92 PCI voice/fax modemThis is a upgrade package and assembly is required. Warrant is good:Modem not pictured, some assembly required. 3 year manufacturer's warranty on CPU/HSF, lifetime replacement warranty on memory module. One year warranty on balance of parts. Watch for upcoming barebones from TCWO as Christmas nears.
Drewdatrip
My sources say to wait till the end of october if you intend to get Intel CPUs. Apprently there is going to a rather large drop in price. But i have already noticed a decent drop about 5 days ago. The local store i work at was selling 3.0c for like $439 now they are on sale for $359 and will goto retail at $379. Still abit too much for me, but a decnt price break nonetheless.|Drew|
