muchlux Posted April 10, 2007 Share Posted April 10, 2007 Hi,I have 2 PCs P4 1.8GHZ with the old Intel aluminium (no Copper core) coolers.The fans are too noisy now.What replacement fans are recommended for almost silent operation? bonestonne Posted April 11, 2007 Share Posted April 11, 2007 they're probably running 60mm fans, in which case there will be no easy replacement for silencing or quieting down. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g142/bon...er/IMG_0856.jpgthat was my solution, however the board is not properly wired...thats an 80mm fan that i mounted on the 60mm holes..60mm fans were screamers just like the 40's...your best bet might just be a whole new cooler for them. You can either do a custom jub like bonestonne did, or buy a new heatsink.@bonestonne - look at the link you posted - bon...er!
