txlevi
I recently tried to switch from OE to Outlook. I found that each time I returned to my POP account, the emails would be dl again. No matter if I retained them or deleted them. I choose to keep emails on the server for 7 days so that I can access account remotely from laptop when traveling. Is there a setting in outlook to stop this constant re-downloading?Thanks,Levi
Aaron
I haven't used outlook, but it sounds like you have a setting in outlook that tells it to keep email messages on the mail server. Try and find this setting and uncheck it, if it exists.
Rick
Okay...go this path to turn off the "leave copy on server" option.Tools->email accounts->next->change->More Settings->advanced then click the check mark out of the box that says "Leave a copy of messages on the server." Did you get all that? Outlook is great but crap is hidden all in it and any regular guy can't make simple changes such as this without tearing the menus apart!!!Rick
txlevi
Is there a solution if I WANT to keep the messages on the server?Somehow OE remembers not to download them again, but Outlook doesn't.Thanks,Levi
Cyborg_Dell
I think you could set up a rule to do this, ie: no downloading of duplicate items [/color:fc91312981]
