Hi folks!

Related to the predecator XPize4Win2K created by me thread in XPize Forum

I created from XPize Sources two alphas and one betacX2K.

For testing and debugging, don't think its perfect!

Since alpha 2 included some nice features - see here:Changelog.txt

Like the older X2K this pack wants extend Windows 2000 at its best! Maybe in future also with Logon and Startmenu like WinXP MCE?

The screenshot of my Windows 2000 Professional is not actual any more, and additional will also come!

post-119189-1175694832_thumb.jpg

Please test this pack helping me with ideas, suggestions or resources!

Tell me which features do you want, i'll (try to) make them possible!

Of course i'm not in doubt for you  e.g. cause of possible bugs

Please, read the project site, see link the at bottom of posting! If i cannot give newest information here, there is it!

You can download this cX2K installers:

version 1.0.0.0 packed as alpha 1

version 1.0.1a packed as alpha 2

version 1.0.1b packed as beta 1.

As i am german are my homepage in mother tongue. But i added an english language project page on my homesite http://www.christiankuhlmann.de/x2k/ :thumbup

Best wishes,

Chris

Lookin' nice.

Just some ideas:

1) Drop that color scheme. It's too bright and 3d objects such as buttons don't look good.

2) Either those images in 'Taskbar Properties' need to be cropped or the dialog itself needs to be resized.

3) Use the correct icons for start menu (the smaller ones with no shadow)

4) Please do something about that big monitor with black borders. :)

@Dave.net:

1. Color scheme ist not including yet - what you see is my local modification. Suggest an example via a shot of your System!

2. The images are coming with the standard XPize resources. When possible in future XP-ish taskbar is available!

3. For classic startmenu, of course. New startmenu will be included in future when possible!

4. My standard screen resolution @ 17" CRT ;) Should i reduce my screen resolution before i make screenshots?

Hello !

Which part do you need testing with?

I haven't yet tested here using modified nLite installation as new installation.

I'm having an extra partition - but it's more important the debug of source code for enabling patch from within nLite!

If you have e.g. Virtual PC and nLite, copy a nLite'd Disk in a folder and use the patching routine from within the cX2K installer with it.

Let me know how the patched system looks like!

Does it looks like my modified Windows 2000 Professional?

Cause i have to go into five day holiday  - without internet  i'm away until easter monday evening

Happy Easter :thumbup

No, your res is Ok! I meant the monitor image in 'System Properties'.

Hmm... I honestly don't know how i can make the odd background transparent...

Greetings,

Chris

I'm afraid you can't use real transparency. However you can fake it. Can I have that bmp you are using there?
