wim image recompresson

what tool does vlite use to recompress the image? and does anyone know of a tool that i can recompress a .wim image with

i am trying to vlite a multi-version dvd, but after vliting it the dvd contents are larger than 4.5gig.

if i use the current vlite rebuild, i only get to keep 1 version in the .wim file

Download microsoft WAIK and use imagex.

Please don't ask me how as I haven't done it manually, try some searching, plenty of info out there.

Btw why would you need to keep other images, didn't you buy just one?

i used imagex under xp but i cant work out how to recompress - microsoft site says there is a /compress parameter but under xp it doesnt seem to do anything.

i can mount and unmount images without any problems but am stuck after that

Why would you think that.

Well the question stays, why more than one even in that case. Only reason that I can see is either to distribute it (very bad) or to feel like it's something more if you have all versions.

Tried fooling around a bit with these tools from the WAIK, but they don't quite seem to work that well. I can integrate 3 out of 6 updates, which is not that great. Posted info in general vista topic here
