DarkBringer
At one point during the hotfixes installation a message box appears asking me to specify a folder to extract some files. After hitting OK (the default directory is C:\WINDOWS\system32\......I think) I get "Files Extracted" and the installation continues.Has anyone else encountered this? (Or maybe it's attributed to one of the Windows XP Home Edition hotfixes?)I did both the SVCPACK.INF and Windows Update methods and got the same thing. gosh
Well it sounds like you got a command wrong. Run each command within windows xp until you get the error you're seeing. Reinstalling your hotfixes won't hurt a thing.-gosh
DarkBringer
Found it!Oddly enough it was the 142KB QChain.exe file I put in the SVCPACK directory.(It asked to be extracted to C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\ and were two files: eula.txt and a 43.6KB qchain.exe)Which begs the question:Which QChain.exe file to put in the SVCPACK directory? The one for 142KB or 43.6KB?
Aaron
Use the extracted one, 43.6 KB
Leon2003
DarkBringer, did u get your problem fixed? I have the same problem here, dunno which part of my svcpack.inf wrong.Here is my svcpack.inf:[Version] Signature="$Windows NT$"MajorVersion=5MinorVersion=1BuildNumber=2600[SetupData]CatalogSubDir="\i386\Update"[ProductCatalogsToInstall]KB826939.cat[SetupHotfixesToRun]update.exe -q -nWMP9.exeQ322011.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ330994.exe /Q:A /R:Njs56nen.exe /Q:A /R:NQ814995.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ819696.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ820291.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ823182.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ824105.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ824141.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ825119.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ828026.exe /Q /U /N /ZQ828035.exe /Q /U /N /Zq828750.exe /Q:A /R:NQ829558.exe /Q /U /N /ZDX9NTopk.exeqchain.exe
DarkBringer
Yeah. I manually extracted the 142KB QChain.exe to a temporary directory, and replaced it with the one SVCPACK.INF pointed to.ie. Your SVCPACK.INF is correct but the QChain.exe file should be 43.6KB not 142 KB.
Leon2003
Acutally I did change my qchain.exe to be 43.6KB. The same problem still exists. any1 can help us out here?
