Indexing a network drive

On WinXP SP2 workstation I would like to index the network with UNC path

"\\server\d"

So I set up the indexing options as per this guide:

But I am getting the following errors in event viewer:

I have entered the correct UNC path and also the USERNAME and PASSWORD to the UNC drive.
