btodd
I would like to make a semi-attended CD. What I mean is, I would like to make a cd that installs the tweaks and programs just like in the unattended, but prompting the user for their name and cd key, because I would like to use the cd on other computers. Is it possible to use the same switch and batch methods for this? I would think all I need to do is change the option with the SP1 deployment tools to "User Controlled". gosh
The unattend switch would be ProvideDefaults i believe, instead of FullUnattended-gosh
Aaron
Is it possible that removing the Name and cdkey entries in winnt.sif will prompt Setup to ask for those?
gosh
ProvideDefault will prompt you for everything with the default value filled in from your unattend file. the only thing providedefault WON'T prompt you for is the product key. I've used it before, it's nice because if you let a friend borrow your cd he can change the computer name, etc.-gosh

un4given1
Set FullUnattended and remove the info for CDkey and name. It WILL prompt you for anything that is unanswered by the SIF file.

Aaron
You could, but Components and Timezone might not work (don't ask why :\)Try DefaultHide and remove the parts in winnt.sif that you want to be prompted for.
IcemanND
As un4given1 said:Set FullUnattended and remove the info for CDkey and name. It WILL prompt you for anything that is unanswered by the SIF file.will ask for anything not in the winnt.sif which is required for setup with unattendmode=fullunattended. It will give an error message when it needs the cd-key that values provided where invalid, but when you click OK it continues with istall and asks for cd-key. Screwz Luse
So, is it possible to have it autologin anyway even if you have the user create his own password? I doubt it but I'm just curious.
IcemanND
@screwz luse - your probably right, I missed that he was doing autologin.
