Richie_OLSJ Posted February 15, 2007 Share Posted February 15, 2007 ok, so the topic title may not be that clear, but this is what i want to do:1. from windows xp run an app/script that causes it to reboot into win pe2. format the 'c' drive3. install Win XP from networkWe are running a RIS server and I can boot the PC via PXE into WinPE, format the 'C' drive, map network drive and install win xp using winnt32.exe. However, I can't figure out how to get WinPE to install from an already running XP machine so that it will then reboot into WinPE and kick off the XP installationHas anyone managed to do this????Richie Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ubernerd Posted February 15, 2007 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Yes it can be done.The trick is to build a BCD on the fly to have the harddisk boot into the WinPE wim file.The WAIK contains a lot of the details you need, but not the exact solution.
