Recommended Posts

Hi all .

I have a Network Cafe 21 Pc , and a switch 1000/100/10 ,i Connected the cables and windows gave me the 1 Gb lan Connected , when users play Any game like fifa or Counter against the pc the game doesnt lag , but when they play it multiplayer on the local network it laggs , not all the pc together but Randomly.

when i ping a pc i get this result:

ping 192.168.1.8

Pinging 192.168.1.8 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 192.168.1.8: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=128

Reply from 192.168.1.8: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

Reply from 192.168.1.8: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

Reply from 192.168.1.8: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.8:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 2ms, Average = 0ms

is this Normal?

My Switch is Assus and Cables are Cat6

Pc Spec:

P 3.4 2Mb*2 Cach

Assus P5pld2

1 Gb DDr2

256 mb X1600 pro

250 Gb Sata II

i know that u have to make the lan cable with this color sequence from both sides as its not a cross over cable, its a straigh:

w/o , o , w/G , B , W/b, G , W/Br, Br but does it matter if i reversed them like this:

side 1:Br, W/Br , G , W/B , B, W/G, O , W/o

side 2 :Br, W/Br , G , W/B , B, W/G, O , W/o

What is happening? all my Pc are high end and got a very good specification and this lagg is taking away my customer.

Plz help

I tried that , i got the same results

Packets: Sent = 12, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 1ms, Average = 0ms

i repeat my question , is cables color sort a big problem for network ?

Your cables should look like this: http://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/ethernetcables.html. But from what I see your cables are ok, so the loss must be in the switch. What kind of switch is it? What make and model? Is it managed? Also, are the IP addresses static and in the same class and subnet mask? Same workgroup / domain? Are there any servers running on your LAN?

the Ip are static 192.168.1.x , 14 pc on a Games workgroup and other 6 pcs which have no games are on Internet workgroup , obviously no domain , the only server runing on my lan is a pc with SmartLaunch cafe program to manage the pc security .

thanks
