Its a nice reduction of file size.

My clarified question is whether it is possible to have a hard drive run as a "DVD" in essence install Vista from another hard drive instead of a DVD or CD.

Any help is appreciated.

Edit: Vista installed Fine, 5.12 gigs fresh install. Took like 20 min.

Follow these steps

* Copy Ur Vista Installation Source in Ur HDD like C:\Vista_x64

* make bootable CD without the main file install.wim

* boot with CD

* Click on Repair Option after some time Repait Option Dialog box appears.

* Run the Command Prompt and navigate to the installtion source using DOS commands

CD C:\Vista_x64\sources

* type setup and hit the enter. Setup will being for installtion.

I had been using these steps when I had not the DVD Burner.

ENJOY.

only thing you could do *, is to extract the iso to some folder, & start the setup from within windows.

And then tell it to install fresh on some other partition which is just formatted.

*unless vLite manages to break down the dvd into multiple CDs ;)

But x64 Setup can't be started under a 32-bit Windows Environment.
