Elena.Alasea
Hi,I seem to have a problem with Windows Media Player 11 and can't find a solution, or what's causing the error. In the screenshot you'll see the error I get when I first open WMP (actually first the wizard starts, which works fine, and after that, when WMP opens automatically, this error comes up and WMP closes after pressing the OK button).I already tried removing different components and several installations (VMWare and real ones), but it keeps on giving the same error. Does anyone have an idea on what to do with or how to solve this? Thanks in advance,Elena; vLite preset file[Information]Version = 0.9 beta on 2.0.50727.312 Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.6000.0Target = Windows Vista ULTIMATE 32bit 6.0.6000.16386[Components];# Drivers #ModemsPrintersScanners;# Games #Inbox GamesPremium Inbox Games;# Hardware Support #Fax Support;# Languages #JapaneseKoreanSimplified ChineseTraditional Chinese;# Multimedia #Media CenterMovie and DVD MakerScreensaversShell event soundsSideShowSpeech SupportTablet PCWallpapersWindows Media SamplesWindows Sidebar and Gadgets;# Network #Connect to a Network ProjectorRemote Desktop and AssistanceWindows CollaborationWindows Communication Foundation;# Services #Error ReportingMicrosoft DFS ReplicationOffline FilesRemote RegistrySecondary LogonVolume Shadow CopyWindows Remote Management;# System #AccessibilityComponent CacheHelpMicrosoft AgentNatural LanguageParental ControlsReadyBoostSecurity CenterSuperFetchSystem RestoreWelcome CenterWindows BackupWindows DefenderWindows Easy TransferZip Folder[Options]User Account Control (UAC) = DisabledSubstitute common fonts with Segoe UI = Yes[Protection]windows\system32\example.exewindows\system32\example.exe[Drivers]Ps: In English the error is something like: "The instruction on 0x6c91b14c links to memory on 0x3e6d3432. nuhi
Tried your preset and no error.Try keeping the Component Cache next time, and reconsider other things, maybe unattended settings or something.
Elena.Alasea
Tried your preset and no error.Try keeping the Component Cache next time, and reconsider other things, maybe unattended settings or something.Tried that already (with component cache, and other stuff. And I don't use unattended settings, so can't be that either I guess). I'll now try and remove the same things from another full Vista cd. Perhaps the original files are corrupted... nuhi
Ok, then if it still fails then please consider doing some eliminations to see which removal or tweak caused it. In virtual it shouldn't take too long by the 50/50 exclusions.
Elena.Alasea
It was indeed my source files that were corrupted, tried the exact same settings with another Vista installation and it works, sorry to have bothered you with this Thanks and greetings,Elena
