corjello Posted January 15, 2007 Share Posted January 15, 2007 ok, before i start ill give you a run down of how my internet in my house workswe have a desktop hardwired into our router.then, we have a wireless router which is set up with a static ip hardwired into our routerthen, we have a wireless laptop that connects to the wireless router to get interneta Wii is also using our wireless internet.so, i have recently set up my desktop with a static ip so i can port forward for my torrent client. do i need to set up the rest of my computers (and wii) with a static ip also? or can they stay as a dynamic?)corjello( Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ringfinger Posted January 15, 2007 Share Posted January 15, 2007 Question... why do you need 2 routers? Does the wireless router not have any ethernet ports as well? If it does, drop the first router, run the wireless router/switch to your ISP. As far as the static/dynamic question, no, you don't need to set statics on everything as long as you're getting a connection dynamically then thats all that matters.
