ok, before i start ill give you a run down of how my internet in my house works

we have a desktop hardwired into our router.

then, we have a wireless router which is set up with a static ip hardwired into our router

then, we have a wireless laptop that connects to the wireless router to get internet

a Wii is also using our wireless internet.

so, i have recently set up my desktop with a static ip so i can port forward for my torrent client. do i need to set up the rest of my computers (and wii) with a static ip also? or can they stay as a dynamic?

Question... why do you need 2 routers? Does the wireless router not have any ethernet ports as well? If it does, drop the first router, run the wireless router/switch to your ISP. As far as the static/dynamic question, no, you don't need to set statics on everything as long as you're getting a connection dynamically then thats all that matters.

thanks a ton, and we have two routers because if the hardwire one was replaced with our wireless, it wouldnt be able to send out a very good signal, so we keep our wireless on the main floor and not in the basement in our concrete walled room.
