ringfinger Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 That is a weird one... I would normally suggest reinstalling drivers... but if it works everywhere I wouldn't think that would fix it. How long has it been happening?
cluberti Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Check the following local policy (start > run > gpedit.msc) under User Configuration/Adminsitrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar/Remove Drag and Drop context menus on start menu - if it is enabled, set it to disabled. If it is set to "Not Configured", leave it alone. If that is set to "Not Configuraed", set or create the following registry value:Key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ExplorerValue: nochangestartmenuType: REG_DWORDData: 0Once you've set the policy to disabled, or configured the registry value, restart and your right-click on start menu items should be working again.
bonestonne Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 in the start menu, if you double click on programs, it'll open as a window...easy as pie?
Kelsenellenelvian Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 (edited) Awww common guys this is an easy one...Right click on the taskbar and select properties.then choose the following in order -> Start Menu -> customize (Start Menu) -> Advanced -> Make sure "enable dragging and dropping" is checked.Apply and your all set to go... ringfinger Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Heh... never knew that existed or I would have suggested it. I always only use the Classic Start menu and that option isn't available. Its the first thing I change on a new build or new-to-me-machine. But cool... hopefully that will fix it
