Recommended Posts

Ok, I can't seem to figure it out on my own...which updates do I download (with WUD) after I have sp2 slipstreamed into the XP cd with nLite?

Please reply and I will update anything regarding my problem, I really need to get this to work, thank you!

Edit: I have windows XP Pro english, x86

You can integrate all these with nLite:

IE6.0sp1-KB834707-Windows-2000-XP-x86-ENU.exe

Then you need to fiddle about to get these to install:

Windows-KB890830-V1.23.exe (Malicious Software Removal Tool)

Windows-KB913433-x86-ENU.exe

WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe

CMD Commands:

START /WAIT Windows-KB890830-V1.23.exe /Q /O /Z
START /WAIT KB913433\INSTALL_FP6_WU.EXE
START noreboot.exe
START /WAIT WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe /Q

noreboot.exe is an AutoIt2 script, the code for that is this:

HideAutoItWin, on
WinWait, Windows Script 5.6, You must restart your computer before
WinActivate, Windows Script 5.6, You must restart your computer before
Send, n

Hotfix KB913433 should be extracted out of its EXE with WinRAR

or Universal Extractor and the files put into a folder, I call it "KB913433"

as you can see: START /WAIT KB913433\INSTALL_FP6_WU.EXE

then you only need to run the EXE and it installs automatically without switches.

Grab all the hotfixes from here:

So I have to filter through all of the ones on the WUD list?

If you choose to integrate them in nLite or use HFSLIP, either way you're

gonna have to manually download them one by one.

And just to be sure, you know that I am trying to download all the updates after sp2?

Yep, there are about 120 post SP2 Hotfixes altogether.

Try it - install your SP2 CD and visit Windows Update... it is shocking I have

to say... with SP1, SP2 and the 120 hotfixes it must be getting to more than

400 Hotfixes by now.

Its normally around this time they make an SP3... its well overdue.

The relieving thing is - nLite is incredible in that your CD won't

really grow at all even after including 117 Hotfixes.

Do you think it would be ok to download all the updates on the windows updates downloader list and add those to the CD?
