gavoz
Hi all, I'm new here and I have a question for all of you: As you know updates are saved end "unziped" in "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download" folder. Is it possible to "repack" these files so I can use them for future use?For example I have a Windows XP Virtual Machine: every 2nd thursday of the month I run Windows Updates so I have my "template" PC detecting all of the updates available in that moment for Windows XP.Now if I want to integrate all of them with nlite I have to download them manually from MS web site.Instead of doing this is it possible to re-use updates located in "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download" on my VM?Sorry for my bad english.-Andrea
Ver Greeneyes
You might want to have a look here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=23If your Windows XP is English or another language that isn't Italian, you can find other languages on there as well. Madhits45
Welcome to MSFNActually there is someone that has already done this for you. Check out my post here:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=89060There are 3 ms xp sp2 update packs out there and all are little different. Ryans seems to be the most popular since hes been doing it the longest. vote for your favorite one if you try & compare them.
Kiki Burgh
i agree ... those packs are very useful ... you do not need to download individual hotfixes anymore ...
gavoz
Ok, thanks to all I know about Ryan and other things like this but I want to know if is there a way to repack manually (with a tool) all updates already downloaded/installed on other machine.
