tain
What kind of connection are you using? Could be lots of things such as service provider maintenance or something in the environment disrupting wireless. The more you can tell us about your network the better we can help. lilweirddude
Im on Verizon FiOS and connected by wire. However, the connection is going through two routers so that's where the problem may be? I've been trying to turn the second router into a switch but apparently i need a crossover cable. nitroshift
I agree here with TAiN and LLXX. ISP's are trying to service their networks when (they think) the network is least loaded. Edited December 19, 2006 by nitroshift
lilweirddude
Maintenance? =\What is the explaination for being partially connected then?
ringfinger
I think your problem may be with the way you're routing the connection to the system. Have you tried coming straight out of the FIOS to your box during the 'normal' time when it does offline?
lilweirddude
not yet, im still trying to convert the second router to a switch
LLXX
What is the explaination for being partially connected then? They try not to cut off connections that are already established but don't want to see new ones being created. The ones that were already established are likely going to be very slow, if they're rerouting them somewhere. Try downloading a large file and ensure that it continues to download past the time the connection is supposed to cut off. If you see a large decrease in speed at the time it drops out, then it's very likely.
