Because it might break the installation of several programs that are installed at "GuiRunOnce". What's a good time frame? We don't know. It depends on the speed of the computer and the amount of programs to be installed.

If you know the command, you can experiment with it yourself in SOURCESS\I386\HFSLPGUI.CMD.

i was thinking about calling "shutdown -r -t 15" (for instance) right after all GUIRunOnce installations have finshed...

How about inserting it into HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce at the bottom of the list?

(for example)

I still think you'll keep looking into this issue, right?

You don't know how grateful I am. Hfslip is incredibly useful and saves me a LOT of time...plus it's fun to use :)

I'm using the latest version of HFSLIP, 1.21 and I can't get IE7 to install. I dump the IE7 exe file that I downloaded from MS into the HF folder and it doesn't work. Also, do you guys just place the WM11 file into the HF folder or you placed a modified WM11 file into the HF folder? If so, how do I make the modified WM11 file?

Here is my log:

HFSLIP Version - 61216

HFSLIP Path - C:\Hfslip\

OS in SOURCESS - XP SP2 English

Service Pack Slipstreamed

Drivers - DRIVER.CAB Updated

CD Install Path - Default

CDTAG - WIN51

@Sgt_Strider:

What exactly doesn't work? Is IE7 simply not installed? Do you get an error message?

For WMP11, use a program such as 7-Zip or WinRAR. Right-click on wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe and extract the contents into a folder. Rename the folder WMP11 and place the folder itself (i.e. not just the files) into HF.

Nevermind, after the computer rebooted, IE7 is up and running.

  • 1 year later...

Does Slipstreaming IE7 & WMP11 after clean integrating SP3, will require also all that old hotfix's for IE7 and WMP11 ?

Or i can just use nlite to integrate IE7 & WMP11 Slipstreamer to WMP11 ?

Not really. There's still the jscript.dll update and the vgx.dll security update. I suppose Windows Update just shows the most crucial one for now until the hotfixes are updated to have SP3GDR and SP3QFE binaries.
