[RIS] HP DC5700 SFF NIC Problem

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I don't get my RIS image for the new HP DC5700 SFF working.

In the past we used DC 5100 SFF's and that allways worked without any problem, now we've made a new standard image and runned riprep on the machine.

The image is on the server and we copied the NIC driver to the OEM folder and modified the .SIF file.

But I don't get it working, I get the following error:

The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system image. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.

I've tried a few drivers the one from the HP website and from the Broadcom website but both don't work :S

The NIC is a:

Broadcom NetExtreme Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Anybody got ideas what I can try or had the same problems?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

DXK

EDIT: I also did everything that stands in this post

Previous dc7600 series use Broadcom NetExtreme Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

dc7700 series use Intel LoM (Lan on Motherboard).

Broadcom NICs are an option in PCIe slot.

download and use the correct driver SP33669.exe from hp download driver support.

Report your success or failure.

wrong link

You can send me a PM with a valid E-Mail and i will send you the Broadcom NetExtreme Gigabit Ethernet Adapter inf and sys file i'm using on my RIS Server 2003.

I have used it for all my dc7600 deployments.

Extract inf_i386folder.zip in \\<RISSERVER>\RemoteInstall\Setup\English\Images\WIN51IP.SP2\i386

the standard b57win32.inf file includes changes as the example posted here

Extract b57win32.cab to \\<RISSERVER>\RemoteInstall\Setup\English\Images\WIN51IP.SP2\\$OEM$\$1\Drivers

b57win32.cab includes DriverVer = 04/05/2005,8.27.1.0 downloaded from hp

b57win32.cat

b57win32.inf

b57xp32.sys

Put a copy of b57xp32.sys in \\<RISSERVER>\RemoteInstall\Setup\English\Images\WIN51IP.SP2\i386

ristndrd.sif

[Unattended]
DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
NtUpgrade = No
Win9xUpgrade = No
OemPreinstall = yes
FileSystem = LeaveAlone
ExtendOEMPartition = 0
TargetPath = \WINDOWS
OemSkipEula = yes
InstallFilesPath = "\\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%INSTALLPATH%\%MACHINETYPE%"
LegacyNIC = 1
OemPnPDriversPath = "\drivers"
UnattendSwitch=yes

Stop and restart Remote Installation (BINLSVC). To do so, click Start, and then click Run. In the Run dialog box, type cmd in the text field, and click OK. In the console window, type the following:

Net Stop BINLSVC

Net Start BINLSVC
