unattended bt broadband installation help!

Recommended Posts

You don't need any s/w installed for ntl home BB, unless you have a cable modem or a usb2ethernet adaptor that xp doesn't recognise and then you only need the drivers.

All the rubbish that the ntl disk installs is just that - Rubbish.

When I configure a pc I can install xp then plug in the Ethernet cable and away it goes.

if you do have the voyager 100 usb adsl modem then you need to download the following driver

http://www.downloads.bt.com/btbroadband/dr...ver140002EA.zip

extract the zip file to a folder called Modem in your install folder

Copy these whole registry entries

***** please do not copy this and edit it, i have pasted it so you get an idea of what it should look like******

create a folder called Setdun in your install folder save the reg files to that folder

next you need to put your cd in and goto the programfiles folder you need to extract the files from setdun.exe to your setdun folder

next you need to put the csras32.ocx file in your $OEM$\$$\system32 folder, if you dont allready have it then you will need to create this folder

you now have all the files you need to install your modem

in your setup.cmd script file add the following lines

******add this code before something that takes a while to install like .net framework************i have it before nero******** the reason for this is setup calls another batch and so your setup batch will continue to install your other apps

ECHO.
ECHO Installing BT voyager 100 adsl modem
ECHO Please wait...
start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Modem\Setup.exe /silent
ECHO.
ECHO Registering Nero Burning ROM...
start /wait REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\Nero\register.reg
ECHO Please wait...
ECHO.
ECHO Installing Nero Burning ROM v6.0.0.9
ECHO Please wait...
start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Nero\Setup.exe /silent /noreboot
ECHO.
TASKKILL /f /im iexplore.exe <---this will kill internet explorer which allways starts after install
ECHO.

*******************next you need to apply the registry values**************

ECHO.
ECHO Registering Username and password
ECHO Please wait...
start /wait REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\SetDun\SETDUN.reg
start /wait REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\SetDun\RUNDUN.reg
ECHO.

**********************then you need to run changedun, if you saved the reg files correctly then this will take your username from the registry and apply it all to configure your connection**********************

ECHO.
ECHO Configuring Internet Connections
ECHO Please wait...
start /wait %systemdrive%\install\SetDun\ChangeDUN.exe
ECHO.

i hope all of this helps

let me know how you get on or if you need more help

i cant say as i have never tried but i assume they use the same method, if you can find all the files and the reg keys look the same and the way i described seems to be right then i would say yes, but i am only guessing, please dont take my word for it, if it dont work dont scream at me
