Make users choose their password

Hi all,

Hope everybody is doing fine.

How do I create accounts in WINXP and require users to choose their password at first logon.

It's pretty unusual since PC means personal computer but I share my computer with my roomates and wish to add their account automatically but don't know their password.

I read the NET USER help page but found no answer. Anybody has any idea?

Regards

Santiago

You really can't create an account automatically. You could in win98, but after that security issue M$ opted to have the admin create the accounts. Right click My Computer, click Manage. Expand Local Users and Groups, select users. Right click in the window with all the users and select new user. Put in the name of the user and click ok. Don't add a password and make sure the checkbox that says, "User must change password at next logon" is checked.

Please search the forum next time.
