vaempire4wii
i have a gprs connection through my nokia 7610 mobile which shows a connection speed of 460.8 Kbps, don't get excited though. whenever i download, even in night, my speed don't go beyond 7 kb/s. so is there any way i can maximize my download speed. i use IDM latest build FOR DOWNLOADING.PLS GIVE A TESTED METHOD which really works on a slow speed connection. 1 more thing i wanna mention is that, i tested my speed online and it showed download speed = 60kb/s n upload speed = 59 kb/s , which i know i have never even dreamed with this connection. that's why i wanna ask is this speed is really possible on my connection? thnks in advance
jcarle
1) 460Kbps is probably the PHYSICAL connection to your phone's maximum speed, which sounds like the theoretical limit of USB 2.0.2) You ARE getting your maximum download speed as per your download test. 60Kilobits per second DOES equal 7 Kilobytes per second. (1 Byte = 8 Bits)

Jaqie Fox
OK, sure.Google "DSL Reports DrTCP" (without using quotes) and go from there. There is a LOT to learn and a LOT to tweak with it, I can not explain better then they did on their own site.
