But anyway, I am 99% sure replacing explorer.exe with another shell will break windows setup. And, have a look at this post.
footballking3420
I know you can use a different shell to replace the Windows Explorer. Windows Explorer though is still on your computer. I want to be able to remove the Windows Explorer and then intergrate a different shell (like GeoShell) into the install. That way you have just that shell and the Windows Explorer is completely gone. iWindoze
file managers (only one) ...Ghisler's Total Commander (awesome by itself, let alone the independent spirit of its plugins support group):http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=10...eplace+explorerSorry but I must beg to differ on that! There's xplorer², which has a Pro and a free version: http://zabkat.com/There's Explore2fs, which can also read Linux files systems: http://www.chrysocome.net/explore2fsThere are also GXExplorer, and Dimension Shell File Manager...If you search around a bit, I'm sure you'll be able to find more! --iWindoze
Madhits45
Has anyone tried to put explorer.exe in the remove box. I bet it wont work but worth a try. Also I believe the windows setup wont run without explorer.exe at least around t12 mark or after. The only way I can see you doing this is through a batch scrpt that shuts down explorer deletes the backup copy & the running one then replaces necessary reg entries & finally loads it. I delete & replace my explorer during setup so replacing it outright at that point seems possible.
