Whats on your wishlist this year for Christmas?

Maybe sommit you have asked for, got, getting...

For me, off the family getting some new lenses for my camera, and off the misses i've already got a MP3 DJ mixer; as i do this for parties sometimes a "side" hobby.

thats my 2 main pressies this year...

It would be easy to make a 600 page long list

-photography stuff is always nice (but generally expensive - the stuff I want at least)

-puter stuff (but then again, I've never seen anyone ever offer "PC parts" for xmas)

-useful kitchen gadgets (good luck finding something I don't already have!)

-coffee stuff! A Rancilio Rocky would be nice (replacing my Baratza) but on the expensive side

-a JTAGICE mkII. Expensive too. And the odds of getting that for xmas are less than none (that and all kinds of WAY-overpriced lab stuff, like a high-end LeCroy DSO  )

-Power Tools (a.k.a. toys for grownups)

-a laser HDTV (ok, not for sale yet), trip to Yurop, sports car, large mansion... ok, I'll stop now.

The ridiculously overhyped collection of Apple iTrash is a the very top of my "unwanted" list :puke: Unless it also comes with a sledgehammer and glad bags, or a small catapult-like contraption and a box of shotgun shells (add a Beretta Xtrema2 for extra fun). o0o07q.gif

The only thing I really want and that I'm definitely getting is quality time with all the family (but then again I'm paying for the trip). Besides, I'm more worried about what the kids want (pretty long list)... So much shopping to do, so little time!

-a laser HDTV

Yeah cool, and I want... a winning lottery ticket!

Ok then Dear Father christmas...

-a nice numeric camera (finepix 5600 maybe...) Too expensive? ok, next time then.

-a Wii (I'm more a PC player but it looks fun) Later? When price will have come down? But it's only... Ok ok.

-a nice graphic card 8800 GTX? no? ok 7900 GTX then ? Still no? 5600 Maybe?....

...Ok ok. I'll buy myself a good game and that will do.

Haha, I agree.

What do I want?

- An MSDN subscription so I can get Vista and Office '07.

- Parts for a new computer, including but certainly not limited to:

Intel Quad Core (okay... Core 2 Duo Extreme is okay, I guess)

A second Intel Quad core (if the motherboard supported it) :)

32 gigs of ram (okay... 4 is fine ;))

Two nVidia 8800GTX cards

et cetera, et cetera

:)

1. an oral surgeon so I can finally get my **** wisdom teeth out... one is even through my sinus cavity, has been for years.

2. lower body weight

3. a dolby DTS sound card that doesn't suck

4. hard drive space. lots and lots of hard drive space. at least 4TB.

5. Intel gigabit networking components

6. a room air conditioner for next summer

7. new clothes

8. a nice LCD screen so I don't have to hurt myself every time I try to lift my sun 21" CRT. (every time I pick it up without fail I smash my boobs, bruises there FREAKING HURT!)

Most are sadly pipe dreams, though 3, 6, and 7 are likely.

The nForce3 chipset has 9x/me drivers on nVidia's site right now... And IIRC it takes s939 CPUs, so you could concievably stick the brand spankin newest athlon64 or Opteron in it and have full support.

First and foremost - SLEEP!!! School's been driving me nuts lately. I'll be really glad on the 18th when I'm done all my exams. I'll have plenty of time to spend with my girlfriend and family. And time to clean my place...

Non computer list:

  1. New covers for my couch
  2. A nicer digital camera (I've been eyeing a Canon for a while now..)
  3. New coffee table
  4. A proper entertainment center
  5. Pots and pans for my kitchen
  6. Some really good cookbooks - not to just read from, but to get ideas. Good food can make a crappy day turn into a good one.

As for computer stuff...

  1. Seagate Momentus 5400.3 160GB Hard drive
  2. 2x OCZ 1GB DDR2-533 200PIN SODIMM Memory
  3. 4x Western Digital RE2 RAID Editon 500GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB (for RAID5 setup)
  4. SATA RAID controller (don't know exactly which one yet)
  5. A lower power HTPC system.

Oh... and I'm really looking forward to going skiing this year. I've got my season's pass to Whistler/Blackcomb. w00t!!!!
