XtremeMaC: I installed Q282784_WXP_SP1_x86_ENU.exe and nothing happened?!? How do i check to see which updates are installed. Anyways im not using a slipstream method for rollup 1 but rather just running it as any other hotfix. Is this a problem? Shoulod it be higher on the list? Could someone let me know?

Here is my svcpack.inf

[Version]
Signature="$Windows NT$"
MajorVersion=5
MinorVersion=1
BuildNumber=2600

[SetupData]
CatalogSubDir="\i386\Update"

[SetupHotfixesToRun]
DX9NTopk.exe
Q330994.exe /Q:A /R:N
Q814078.exe /Q:A /R:N
Q816093.exe /Q:A /R:N
Q823182.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q823980.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q824105.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q824141.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q825119.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q826939.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q828026.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q828028.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q828035.exe /Q /O /N /Z
Q832894.exe /Q:A /R:N
QCHAIN.exe

And earlier when i mentioned "svcpack.dl_" I really ment to say "svcpack.in_" ?!?! So what do i do with this file? And do i need to make cab the new svcpack.inf? Could someone tell me the best way to set this up? Thanks.

REG ADD %KEY%\65 /VE /D "MDAC Patch" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\65 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\PreSP2hotfixes\ENU_Q832483_MDAC_X86.EXE /C:"dahotfix.exe /q /n" /q" /f

Also,

REG ADD %KEY%\45 /VE /D "KB828035 Patch" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\45 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\PreSP2hotfixes\KB828035.exe /Q /N /Z" /f

Does not work for me(shows up as a windows critical patch on windowsupdate.microsoft.com)

Read Applications that use Quotations. But you're better off lauching it in a cmd window for simplicity.

I downloaded that update in january, so I'm sure it has nothing to do with it.

I never did understand that quotations part.

But would it be

REG ADD %KEY%\65 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\PreSP2hotfixes\ENU_Q832483_MDAC_X86.EXE /C:\"dahotfix.exe /q /n\" /q" /f

???

Can you confirm that without me having to test it ? (60mb ram test computer takes hours to install xp on.)

Is that shown on Windows Update? Because it isn't showing up on my end...

I guess not, but it is released. And since it uses the dahotfix.exe as the bootstrapper I'd guess that the /q /n switch would work fine with it.

But, note that I didn't test that ...
